So WHY turmeric?
Turmeric is a root with a deep golden color and slight bitter flavor. This spice has been becoming a trend due to the impressive properties and benefits. It has always been used in Caribbean and Indian cooking but now, have appeared in drinks and all sorts of homemade dishes.
This culinary spice contains an active ingredient, curcumin. Curcumin is known to have anti-inflammatory effects and shown beneficial in treating digestive issues. Some studies show the absorption of curcumin improves when turmeric is combined with a fat source and black pepper.
Here are some other possible benefits of turmeric:
1. Protects the heart
2. Alleviate joint pain
3. Fights diabetes and cancer
4. Functions as an antioxidant
5. Brain boosting
Turmeric is a great spice to include in your diet due to it’s many potential benefits. However, this is not meant to cure or treat any disease. It is best to talk to your doctor or medical practitioner before starting any turmeric supplements.
-1/2 cup One Degree Organics oats
-3/4 cup Califia Farms almond milk
-1 scoop (3 tbsp) Vital Proteins collagen
-1 tsp turmeric
-1 tsp SunPotion ashwagandha
-2 tsp Frontier-coop ceylon cinnamon
-2 tsp maple syrup
-1 tsp vanilla extract
1. On low heat, cook together the oatmeal and milk until consistency gets thick.
2. Put in the collagen, turmeric, ashwagandha, cinnamon, maple syrup, vanilla extract and mix together.
That’s it! I didn’t measure out each and every ingredient out except the oats and milk. I eyeballed all the other ingredients. I do it so often that I’m pretty accurate when it comes to it!
I think I need another bowl sooon. This was soo sooo goood!
