In elementary school, I lived by a Pizza Hut with a small arcade. My dad always brought me there whenever my mom was out. He gave me several dollars to purchase game coins while we waited for our pizza. I never won anything big – just some bracelets (which broke in several days) and mini erasers (which would always get lost). That was good enough for me though! I’d have pizza at least once a week because on Thursdays, it was only $5 for a medium pizza. I mean, games and pizza?! I always looked forward to that day!
Fast forward to 23 year old Winnie and I STILL look forward to pizza! Sometimes I order pizza when I go out but other times, I like to make it myself at home. Instead of just a basic cheese or pepperoni pizza, I like to make it more special! I tried prosciutto and arugula on pizza and this has been one of my new favorites. I’ve never had prosciutto until this year… deprived I know.
This recipe uses a pre-made pizza crust so it was a quick easy meal!
An abundance of flavor from proscuitto, arugula, tomatoes and shredded cheese. You got yourself a crowd favorite over here. Perfect for any get together or even on those quiet nights in.
- 1 pre-made pizza crust (I used Mikeys paleo pizza crust)
- 2 olive oil (for brushing)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 2 slices roma tomato
- 1-2 cups arugula
- 6 slices prosciutto
Prepare crust according to package instructions.
Brush olive oil over entire pizza crust.
Add toppings; mozzarella shreds and sliced tomato.
Sprinkle basil and oregano on top.
Bake for 5-6 minutes or according to your pizza crust package instructions.
Remove from oven. Top with prosciutto and sprinkle of more mozzarella cheese. Place back into the oven for another 2-3 minutes.
Top with fresh arugula and red pepper flakes.
Cut into 6 slices and enjoy!
