Green Beans Almondine
A great simple holiday veggie recipe! Flavors of browned almonds and lemon squeeze to brighten the veggie up! Simple enough to whip up in 15 minutes for those weeknight meals too!
Servings 8 servings
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/3 cup sliced almonds
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 16 oz bag green beans or haricot verts
- 1/2 cup water 4 oz
- sea salt to taste
Preheat pan to low medium heat with olive oil. Add in sliced almonds to cook for 5 minutes, moving almonds on pan around often. Cook until lightly browned, then add in garlic and lemon juice. Remove from pan and leave to side.
Add green beans into pan with water and sea salt. Cover and allow to blanch for 3 minutes until water is evaporated, then turn off heat.
Toss almond mixture back to stir together! Add more fresh lemon juice if desired, and salt and pepper to taste.
