Sesame Salmon Sushi Hand Wraps

Pan-seared sesame salmon wrapped in nori, sushi rice, cucumbers and avocado! So simple and delicious, you'll satisfy your cravings with this!

  • 8 small nori sheets
  • 2 salmon filets
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 avocado thinly sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Furikake for garnish


  • 1 small cucumber julienned
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • pinch of sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Sushi rice

  • 1 cup short grain sushi rice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt


  • Prepare sushi rice and cucumbers - leave to side. I cooked the rice in my rice cooker. The cucumber ingredients were just all tossed together in a large bowl.
  • Preheat pan to medium heat with olive or sesame oil. Cook salmon filets with salt and pepper. Cook until flaky. Remove from pan.
  • To assemble, place one nori sheet shiny side down and press down a spoonful of sushi rice, leaving a 1/4 inch border. Spread mayonnaise over rice. Top with some salmon, cucumbers and avocado. Garnish with furikake!
