Healthy Breakfast Burrito with 25g Protein – A Weekly Family Staple

Advertisements

Breakfast burritos are a staple in our home, and this one is hands-down my favorite. It’s packed with protein and veggies, not greasy at all, and it’s so satisfying – especially post workout. I make this burrito at least once a week, sometimes even more, because it’s one of those recipes that checks all the boxes: quick, balanced, family-friendly, and absolutely delicious!

A Breakfast My Whole Family Loves

One of the reasons this burrito has become such a regular in our rotation is because everyone in my family loves it. My husband looks forward to it every time I make it. It’s hearty enough to keep him full through a busy morning, and it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy like a lot of takeout breakfast burritos do.

And surprisingly, my toddler loves it too! I’ll make a smaller version for her or give her 1/4 of my burrito! She devours it, which makes me so happy because I know she’s getting protein, healthy fats, and vegetables all in one meal. It’s one of those rare recipes that works for both adults and kids, and that makes mornings so much easier for me 🙂

Why I Love Breakfast Burritos

There’s something about breakfast burritos that feels both cozy and versatile. They’re warm, flavorful, and easy to customize depending on what you have on hand. This exact combo – eggs, sausage, peppers, onions, spinach, avocado, and salsa verde – is my go-to, but I also love switching things up:

There are truly endless ways to make it your own. You can keep it lighter and more nutrient-dense, or make it extra hearty depending on what you’re in the mood for.

A Healthy, High-Protein Option

Each burrito has about 25 grams of protein, making it a great choice after a workout. The combination of eggs, sausage, and veggies keeps me full for hours, and the healthy fats from the avocado make it extra satisfying. I love that I can get a balanced, nutrient-packed breakfast without spending forever in the kitchen.

I also love using Hungryroot groceries for this recipe because it saves me so much time. Everything comes prepped and fresh – like diced peppers and onions, breakfast sausages, and washed greens – so all I have to do is cook, assemble, and roll. If you want to give it a try, you can get 40% off your first order through my Hungryroot link. It’s one of my favorite kitchen shortcuts, especially during busy mornings with two kids!

Why It’s On Repeat Every Week

This breakfast burrito has become a part of our weekly routine. I love making it on mornings when I need something filling after an early workout. My husband loves taking his on the go, and my toddler eats it with no complaints. It’s the kind of recipe that brings us all to the table, and that’s why it’s such a keeper in our home.

If you’re looking for a breakfast that’s protein-packed, family-friendly, and completely customizable, this burrito might just become a favorite in your home too!!
