Basic Homemade Meatloaf

A simple juicy & tender meatloaf recipe that's so delicious and works great as leftovers! All the ingredients for this are mixed into one bowl and baked! There's so much flavor in this single loaf with a tangy tomato glaze on top!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef 90% lean
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 yellow onion chopped
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 slices stale whole wheat bread extra toast and crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Tangy Meatloaf Sauce

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Preheat pan to medium heat with olive oil. Add diced onions to sauté until slightly translucent. Remove from pan and add into large mixing bowl.
  • In the large mixing bowl, add add the other ingredients and mix well.
  • Transfer to a 9x5 greased or lined loaf pan. Bake for 55 minutes.
  • While meatloaf is baking, mix together meatloaf sauce. When done baking, allow to cool for 10 minutes, transfer to a cooling rack to cool for 10 more minutes, then spread 1/2 of the meatloaf sauce on top. Save the rest for spreading on loaf when eating. Slice into 6 slices!
