Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 cup jasmine rice rinsed
  • 8 cups chicken bone broth
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 –2 slices ginger optional

Ground beef:

  • Ground beef
  • Soy sauce
  • Sesame oil

For serving:

  • Green onions chopped
  • Soy sauce to taste
  • Sesame oil to taste

Optional add-ins:

  • Sesame seeds
  • Fish sauce
  • White pepper

Instructions

  • Rinse the rice until the water runs clear, then add it to the Instant Pot with the chicken bone broth, salt, and ginger if using.
  • Seal the lid and cook on high pressure for 25 minutes, then allow a natural release. The Instant Pot will do all the work, creating a smooth and creamy texture without any stirring.
  • While the congee is cooking, heat a pan over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned. Season with soy sauce and sesame oil, then set aside.
  • Once the pressure is released, open the lid and stir the congee well. It will continue to thicken as you mix.
  • Scoop the congee into bowls and top with the cooked ground beef. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onions to taste, then mix everything together before enjoying.
