Salmon Cakes (Baby-Led Weaning and Toddler Friendly)

These easy salmon cakes for babies are the perfect recipe if you’re looking for a nutritious and baby-led weaning friendly way to introduce fish. Made with just a few simple ingredients - salmon, egg, veggies, herbs, and a little cheese. They’re soft enough for babies to handle yet flavorful enough for toddlers (and even adults!) to enjoy. Shaped into small patties, they’re easy for little hands to grab, making mealtime less stressful and more fun.

Ingredients

  • 3 –4 oz cooked or canned salmon
  • 1 egg
  • pinch of dried parsley
  • pinch of dried oregano
  • 1/4 cup cooked finely diced or grated veggies
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons shredded cheese

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the salmon, egg, parsley, oregano, veggies, flour, and cheese.
  • Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into small patties.
  • Heat a nonstick pan and lightly fry the patties until golden on each side.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving to your little one.

Notes

These patties come together quickly and can even be stored in the fridge for easy mealtime prep.
