Preparing for your baby’s arrival is an exciting time, and packing your hospital bag is one of those key milestones that makes it feel real. As a second-time mom, you’re likely approaching this task with more experience and confidence than the first time around. You know what’s necessary, what’s nice to have, and what you didn’t touch the first time. Here’s a list of hospital bag essentials tailored specifically for second-time moms who want to pack smart and stress-free.
I’m currently 36 weeks and packed my hospital bag at 34 weeks. It’s better to do it earlier!
For You: Comfort and Recovery
Comfortable Clothes

- Loose-fitting pajamas or loungewear – A soft pajama set is necessary! You can either wear a pajama set or robe, depending on preference.
- A lightweight robe – I wore this robe at the hospital for two nights straight after giving birth. It’s nice because it made going to the bathroom and breastfeeding easier.
- Nursing bras – these come in a pack of 4 & I love them so much. I’ll be using them again my second time around!
- Socks and slippers with non-slip soles – Having a comfy pair of socks or slippers is helpful! It’ll keep you warm & so you don’t need to walk barefoot on the hospital floors.

- Maternity pads or adult diapers (yes, they’re super convenient!)
- Peri bottle (if the hospital doesn’t provide one)
