This french toast is cooked in coconut oil to the perfect crispiness and coated in a delicious cinnamon sugar mixture. This recipe is perfect for using up any leftover or stale sourdough!

I love making french toast, especially when I’m down to the last several slices of a loaf. Using sourdough is honestly one of the best decisions I made a while back and since then, it’s been my favorite bread for french toast. It holds its shape and can be sliced nice and thick!

I eat avocado or nut butter toast almost everyday for breakfast since it’s a quick choice but once in a while, I like to take a little extra time and make french toast, pancakes, waffles or omelettes! Breakfast is my favorite to

Stale Sourdough – I used 3 day old sourdough bread. Stale bread may not sound good by itself but works great in french toast!

Cinnamon Sugar Mixture – This is a must for your french toast. It can be optional but I highly recommend it. It reminds me of the cinnamon sugar pretzels I always get at the mall while shopping! It brings a warm comforting sweet cinnamon flavor to the sourdough french toast bites.

Organic Virgin Coconut Oil – this “pure” coconut oil is made from pressing fresh coconut meat. More nutrients are kept intact since the this process doesn’t use chemicals or heat. This brings more flavor and smell to whatever you cook in the coconut oil. When I make french toast or pancakes, coconut oil is my go-to oil to cook in.

These little bites were so crispy and perfect dipped in maple syrup or yogurt! Jovin loved them!
