Ingredients
1slice sourdoughsliced into sticks
2largeeggs
1/2cupalmond milk
1tspvanilla extract
1tspbrown sugar
1/2tspcinnamon
1/4tspnutmeg
2tspcoconut oil, for cooking
Brown Sugar Walnut Topping
1tspcoconut oil
1/2applepeeled and chopped into small chunks
1tbsp brown sugar
1/4tspcinnamon
2tbspcrushed walnuts
Instructions
Cut sourdough or french toast bread into sticks.
In a low shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon and nutmeg. Dip all sides of bread into egg mixture and allow to soak for at least 5 minutes.
While waiting for it to soak, peel and chop apple into chunks. Leave to side.
Preheat pan to low-medium heat with 2 tsp coconut oil. Add french toast sticks into pan and cook all sides until golden brown. Remove from pan onto serving plate.
