Introducing solids to your baby can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be! At 7 months old, my little one is exploring new tastes and textures every day. To make mealtime simple and stress-free, I like to prep a few baby-friendly recipes in advance. These recipes are made with clean, wholesome ingredients that fuel little bodies, and they’re perfect for busy parents who want quick, nutritious options on hand.

My goals are simple:
- Choose clean, whole foods made with minimal ingredients.
- Sneak in vegetables wherever I can (grated into oats, blended into batters, chopped into waffles).
- Prioritize healthy fats and proteins like eggs, cheese, whole milk, and nutrient-rich pouches.
- Keep food flavorful but not overwhelming — a pinch of cinnamon, a touch of cheese, or naturally sweet veggies like carrots and sweet potatoes go a long way.
I prepped three baby-friendly recipes that check all those boxes:
- Carrot Oatmeal (with quick-cooking steel cut oats + grated carrot)
- French Toast Sticks (using fresh-baked sourdough from Whole Foods)
- Savory Veggie Waffles (with mashed sweet potato, broccoli, egg, and cheese)
I also like to sneak in vegetables wherever I can. Grated carrot or zucchini blends so easily into oatmeal and waffles, adding natural sweetness and extra nutrition without making the food feel “veggie-heavy.” For oatmeal, I usually cook it with whole milk for creaminess and richness, but you can also use breastmilk or water depending on your baby’s needs. This week, I boosted the oatmeal with the Beet Carrot Serenity Kids pouch, stirred the Sweet Potato Spice Smoothie pouch into the French toast, and added the Beef Pot Roast pouch into the veggie waffles for an extra punch of protein and flavor.for growing babies!
Lately I’ve been meal prepping for my 7 month old using Serenity Kids products. They are available in stores nationside or you can use my code WINNIE to get 20% off their products!
1. Carrot Oatmeal

Carrot oatmeal is a gentle, naturally sweet way to introduce veggies in the morning. The grated carrot blends perfectly with the oats, and the Beet Carrot Serenity Kids pouch adds a smooth, flavorful boost with extra nutrients. Even my toddler enjoyed this recipe!

Ingredients:
- 2 small carrots, peeled and finely grated
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup whole milk, breastmilk, or water
- 1/4 cup serenity kids beet carrot pouch (about half the pouch)
- Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Instructions:
- Cool before serving.
- Cook the oats in milk, breastmilk, or water over medium heat until soft.
- Add grated carrot and cook until tender.
- Stir in the Serenity Kids Beet Carrot pouch for added flavor and nutrition.
2. Baby-Friendly French Toast

French toast is a fun way to encourage self-feeding with soft finger foods. This recipe has healthy fats, natural sweetness, and warming spices that babies enjoy. My 7-month old loved this french toast!

Ingredients:
- 1 slice whole grain or sourdough bread (I find ones without any honey, added sweetener or seeds. I like sourdough with just 3 ingredients)
- 1 egg (rich in protein and healthy fats)
- 3 tbsp serenity kids sweet potato spice smoothie pouch
- 1/4 cup whole milk (or breastmilk/water)
- Pinch of cinnamon
Instructions:
- Whisk together the egg, pouch, milk, and cinnamon.
- Dip the bread into the mixture until coated.
- Cook on a nonstick pan until lightly golden on both sides.
- Slice into thin sticks for easy baby-led weaning.
3. Savory Veggie Waffles

These savory waffles are one of my favorite ways to combine protein, healthy fats, and veggies in a form that’s easy for babies to hold. The egg and cheese give them a boost of protein and fat, while the sweet potato and steamed broccoli add fiber and nutrients.
Ingredients:
- ½ cup mashed sweet potato (cooked)
- ½ cup steamed broccoli, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup shredded cheese
- 2–3 tbsp serenity kids beef pot roast pouch
- ¼ cup whole wheat flour (to bind)
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mash the sweet potato until smooth.
- Stir in the chopped broccoli, egg, cheese, flour, and beef pot roast pouch. Mix until combined.
- Heat and lightly grease a mini waffle maker.
- Scoop the mixture in and cook until golden.
- Let cool, then cut into baby-sized pieces.
Meal prepping for my 7 month old doesn’t have to be complicated. By focusing on healthy fats and protein, I know I’m fueling my baby’s growth and development with the nutrients she needs most. I focus on providing meals with protein, healthy fats, and vegetables.
