I’ve been meaning to share a post about my favorite brunch spots to eat at in Los Angeles! I’m a lover of brunch foods, cute cafes/coffee and also some delicious donuts and ice cream! So if you’re a fan of that, keep reading! If not, still keep reading because these are restaurants that are a must try if you’re in the area 🙂 I’ve been at these spots more than multiple times, which is why I’m sharing about it! I truly love them!
I always love to try the newest restaurants in town but I also love these go-to restaurants of mine!
1. REPUBLIQUE
Location: La Brea LA, CA
Cuisine: French, Breakfast & Brunch
One of my favorite brunch spots in LA! Not only for the food, but for the ambiance and architectural design with high ceilings. They have so many menu options which change with the season or what’s offered for the day. Their pastries are also to die for! They offer them when you enter right before you pay. You get in line to order at the front before you get a number. The food then gets brought out to you be servers. Note, it’s street parking. Also, be prepared to wait since it’s a very popular spot near Beverly Hills. Totally worth it though – you won’t be disappointed! My favorite was the Japanese Grain Bowl (pictured below and Shakshuka!

2. FRESH ON SUNSET
Location: West Hollywood, CA
Cuisine: Vegan, Breakfast & Brunch
This place is on the corner of Sunset and right next to the Sunset Towers. When you enter, there’s horseshoe couches with a really gorgeous blue with chandeliers and bar. Upstairs, there’s pink couch seating with tables and also an outdoor area which is gorgeous! They have such a big menu, so you’re bound to find something you like. I definitely recommend this spot for a fun cute ambiance and delicious food for vegans and non-vegans! I highly would recommend the Goddess Bowl. It comes with a bed of brown rice but I subbed it for soba noodles. It comes with veggies, tempeh, tahini sauce and a red chili oil they make in house. The hummus is definitely a must try – it’s super creamy! The charred greens and vegan feta flatbread was also a great option to start with. My fiance got the beyond meat burger with sweet potato poutine, which was honestly insanely good. This vegan spot is definitely my favorite vegan spot in LA. So much flavor, variety and ambiance on point. However, it can get pricey!

3. TRUE FOOD KITCHEN
Location: Multiple Locations in LA
Cuisine: American, Vegetarian/Vegan
This place isn’t even a question whether or not it’s a top restaurant of mine! I come here all the time. My favorites include the kale hummus, edamame dumplings as appetizers. My favorite salads are the kale cobb salad (pictured below) and seasonal ingredient salad (offered only in the Fall and Winter). The Ancient Grain bowl if my favorite – it comes with quinoa grains, mushrooms, snow peas, grilled onions, miso sweet potatoes, chicken and vegan pesto. Seriously, that bowl ALWAYS satisfies. I usually always finish the meal off with the famous squash pie!! It’s made with butternut squash – it’s vegan and has a gluten-free crust.

4. SWEETGREEN
Location: Multiple Locations in LA
Cuisine: Salad, Vegetarian/Vegan
I get salads to-go here all the time! What’s awesome about them is you can easily sub ingredients and ask for light/regular/heavy dressing! They really tailor the salad to your liking. My favorite is the guacamole greens, which is pictured below. It comes with organic mesclun, grape tomatoes, onion (I always sub for carrots), grilled chicken, tortilla chips, 1/2 avocado, lime squeeze and cilantro jalapeño dressing! They have many salad bowls as well as grain bowls to your choosing. You can also customize your own bowl.

5. MIXT LA
Location: Multiple Locations in LA
Cuisine: Salad, American
This spot has a salad valet at the front. They also have a parking lot. I mean, parking.. in LA? That’s already a big winner for me. This spot has salads, grain bowls, design your own bowls, market plates, sandwiches and seasonal salads. All their ingredients are so fresh and they give big portions. I absolutely loved their market plate – the roasted broccoli (a bit spicy), roasted brussels and salmon are all highly recommend. Their chimichurri sauce goes great on the salmon!

6. DOUBTING THOMAS
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Cuisine: Coffee & Tea, Breakfast & Brunch, Pastries
There’s a good amount of seating – both indoor and outdoor. It’s a cute ambiance here! Great to catch up with your girlfriends or just for a weekend brunch with a friend. They have breakfast/brunch foods like salad bowls, burritos and sandwiches! They also have many pastries to pick from which are baked fresh daily. I got the Bistecca Bowl both times I went – it has a korean fusion taste to it. There’s gochujang sauce, a red chile paste.

7. ST ANNE’S NOHO
Location: North Hollywood, CA
Cuisine: American, Cocktail Bars, Tapas/Small Plates
Their filet mignon, lobster toast, gnocchi and bone-in short ribs are all recommended! The filet mignon is served in lettuce cups – so tender and flavorful! The lobster toast is one of their top favorites. I mean, what place serves lobster on toast? This took it to another level, love it! The meat from the bone-in short ribs just falls off the bone, it’s so tender. The Okinawa Potato Gnocchi is a housemade pasta made by the chef. The gnocchi here is a different shape and made using Japanese purple potatoes! I fell in love with this dish after having it and really wish I can recreate it. The flavors were light with a garlic herb sauce.

8. COS AND PI
Location: South Pasadena, CA
Cuisine: Coffee, Breakfast & Brunch
If you’re looking for fancy avocado toast, this place nails it. It comes on brioche toast with some lemon and edible flowers. Definitely very instagrammable. It was actually a pretty filling toast so this would be a great breakfast toast with some coffee! This shop is hidden and tucked into South Pasadena!

9. COFFEE FOR SASQUATCH
Location: Melrose, Los Angeles, CA
Cuisine: Coffee & Tea, Pastries
One of my favorite coffee shops in the area! It’s also one of the spots Jovin and I like a lot! They have this sasquatch wall in the back, where a lot of people take photos in front of. They have a really good matcha latte, chai latte and americano! There’s fonuts sold here, which is one of my other recommend spots just below. The ambiance is more quiet since people study here lots!
10. FONUTS
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Cuisine: Donuts, Vegan, Gluten-Free
These donuts are baked, never fried. They’re a more cake-liked donut texture. My favorite one here is their Blueberry Early Grey, Double Chocolate and Chocolate Glazed. They also have seasonal flavors in rotation. They have regular sized donuts as well as mini ones. The mini ones sell out REALLY quickly so go before noon if you plan to get any! This place is worth the hype. It’s super close to The Grove LA, so make sure you stop by if you get the chance.
Not all their donuts are gluten-free but they are all vegan.

11. SIDECAR DOUGHTNUTS
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Cuisine: Donuts, Vegan, Gluten-Free
Drum roll please for Sidecar Doughnuts! This place has a big place in my heart. You can’t ever go wrong with a Huckleberry and Old-Fashion. My two favorites I can eat over and over again and never get sick of. Sidecar Doughnuts are more of a cakey texture. The flavors each month rotate but the Huckleberry is always available year round since it’s their #1 best!! They offer 1 vegan gluten-free option everyday, which does rotate in flavor according to season and availability.
12. YOGAURT
Location: Glendale, CA
Cuisine: Soft Serve & Smoothies, Vegan, Dairy-Free
The base for the soft serve is cashews and almonds. Their base is made fresh in house everyday and they also add probiotics. Yogurt naturally has probiotics, but because this is vegan and not from cows milk, it doesn’t naturally have probiotics. It’s awesome how they add that for more benefits! The chocolate and peanut butter are my two favorite flavors. I got them side by side here with shredded coconut. They usually have 10-12 flavors with 1-2 seasonal flavors which rotate. Make sure you try matcha or pumpkin when you get the chance. There’s lots of toppings including granola, cacao nibs and many other super foods. They also have smoothies and brownie sundaes!

13. PRESSED JUICERY
Location: Multiple Locations in LA
Cuisine: Juice Bars, Vegan Frozen Yogurt (Pressed Freeze)
You already know. If I’m near a Pressed, I’m there for sure. I love their chocolate, vanilla, matcha and pumpkin flavor. The base is nuts and fruits. The sweetener they use is maple syrup or dates depending on flavor. The one picture below is the pumpkin freeze with blueberries, strawberries and cacao drizzle (which is a must try). The cacao drizzle freezes into chocolate pieces you can bite into! I love having a cup of freeze after my meals or just as a snack if I’m nearby. They’re at the Grove LA and Glendale Galleria. Both great places to shop at and grabbed Pressed!
14. BENGEES ICE CREAM CRAFTERS
Location: Pasadena, CA
Cuisine: Cronuts, Ice Cream, Vegan, Gluten Free
This place is mainly known for their cronut ice cream sandwiches. They have a case of regular flavors as well as vegan flavors. The Thai Tea is available for both – which is one of my favorite ones. I also like tiramisu – coffee flavors with cream. Also, I love how the inside of the shop says “Ice Cream Therapy”. I think we all deserve some ice cream once in a while! This spot is on Lake Ave in Pasadena, which has a lot of food spots like Mendocino Farms, Urban Plates, Cava Grill, Real Food Daily and more. This is a great ice cream shop to stop by after! Vegan friendly!

15. JENIS SPLENDID ICE CREAM
Location: Multiple Locations in LA
Cuisine: Ice Cream, Vegan, Gluten-Free
My favorite has got to be their Texas Sheet Cake and Roasted Strawberry Butter & Strawberry Jam! A very popular flavor here is the Brown Butter Almond Brittle! Their flavors change ever 9-10 weeks! They always have a bunch of flavors to pick from so I’m sure you’re bound to sample lots and pick one (or more) you like!
Thank you all for reading! I hope that you get to visit some of these spots if you’re ever in LA!
I definitely will be updating this list as I continue to eat my way through LA 😛
