If you’re looking for easy, low-prep ways to keep your toddler engaged while still building foundational skills, this set of workbook activities is such a sweet spot. Not everything has to be intense learning with tracing or memorization. Sometimes, the simplest activities, especially ones involving stickers, are exactly what toddlers love most!
Here is the link to my 52 Workbook Activities Guide (workbook focused). I also have an 8 Week Activity Guide (list of themed activities to do at home/outside). I also made matching flashcards for Weeks 1-4 and Weeks 5-8!
Here are the links to the 3 main supplies I use – other than colored markers!
- Sketchbook – It doesn’t bleed through even with sharpie or markers.
- Dot Markers – Use this for color, number or letter recognition. There is so much you can do with these markers!
- Dot Stickers – Use this for color recognition and creative crafting. My toddler loves them!
Here are five playful and purposeful workbook ideas we’ve been loving lately!
1. Fishbowl Sticker Play

This activity is as simple as it gets, but toddlers absolutely love it.
Draw a large fishbowl on a page and lightly color it in to make it feel a little more inviting. Then give your toddler a mix of fish and sea animal stickers to place inside the bowl.
There’s no right or wrong way to do this. It’s all about letting them explore and have fun while practicing fine motor skills through peeling and placing stickers. Activities like this are great reminders that learning can be relaxed and enjoyable.
2. Complete the Crayon

This one is perfect for early drawing practice.
Draw several large crayons on a page, each missing the pointed tip. Add a small dot where the tip should connect, and have your toddler draw a line to complete the crayon.
You can use different colors like red, yellow, blue, pink, and green to keep it visually engaging. It’s a simple way to introduce control with drawing lines while also reinforcing color recognition.
3. Color-Coded Letter Circling

This activity gently introduces letter recognition in a fun, interactive way.
Write letters A through D across a page in both uppercase and lowercase. Assign each letter a color:
- A = orange
- B = purple
- C = pink
- D = blue
Then have your toddler find and circle each letter using the correct color. For example, they’ll circle all A’s in orange, all B’s in purple, and so on.
This not only builds early literacy skills but also gives them practice with drawing circles and following simple instructions.
4. Sticker Math Counting

This is a great introduction to early math concepts using something toddlers already love.
Draw simple addition boxes like “1 + 1 =” and create spaces where your toddler can place stickers. As they add stickers into each box, count them together and then count the total at the end.
Even if they don’t fully understand math yet, this builds early number awareness and helps them visually see what adding means. It’s all about exposure and making numbers feel approachable.
5. Triangle Size Matching

A better way to think of this activity is as a “Triangle Size Match & Paste.”
Draw several triangles on a page in different sizes. Then create matching triangle cutouts that your toddler can place on top of the correct size.
They’ll look at each triangle, find its match, and glue it down. This activity builds visual discrimination, shape recognition, and problem-solving skills in a hands-on way.
