If you’re looking for a simple, nutrient-packed recipe that’s perfect for your little ones, these tofu and salmon patties are such a winner! They’re soft, flavorful, packed with protein, and come together quickly with just a handful of ingredients. I love making a batch of these during the week for an easy lunch or dinner for little ones!

A Wholesome, High-Protein Meal
One of the things I love most about this recipe is how nutrient-dense it is. Salmon is rich in high-quality protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which support brain development in babies and young children. Tofu adds a plant-based protein boost, along with calcium and iron depending on the variety you choose.
When you combine the two, you get patties that are balanced, satisfying, and nourishing — a perfect way to get in protein without relying on processed options. They’re pan-fried in a thin layer of oil until golden on the outside, but they stay soft and tender on the inside, making them ideal for little ones learning to chew and explore new textures.
Baby & Toddler Friendly
These patties have a naturally soft texture that’s perfect for babies who are ready for finger foods. They hold together nicely but break apart easily, which makes them great for self-feeding. You can serve them as-is for babies (no salt needed!), and for toddlers or adults, they pair beautifully with rice, avocado slices, roasted veggies, or tucked into a mini sandwich.
For younger babies, I like to break the patties into small pieces or mash them slightly with a fork. For toddlers, I’ll often serve them whole so they can hold and take bites themselves. The mild flavor makes them a hit even with picky eaters.

Why These Patties Are Great for Babies
These tofu and salmon patties are soft, packed with nutrients, and easy to hold – making them ideal for little ones. Because both tofu and salmon are naturally tender, the patties don’t require added salt or strong seasoning, which keeps them baby-friendly. The healthy fats in salmon support brain development, while tofu provides additional protein and minerals for growing bodies.
They’re also freezer-friendly, so you can prep a batch in advance and reheat as needed for quick, balanced meals.

Other Versions I Love
If you’ve been following my recipes, you know I love a good protein patty – they’re quick, versatile, and freezer-friendly. Before creating this tofu and salmon version, I shared a few other variations that are just as simple and nourishing:
- Shrimp Patties — my original version that started it all.
- Salmon Patties — a classic, rich in omega-3s and super flavorful.
I love having different versions on rotation depending on what protein I have on hand. This tofu and salmon variation has become a new favorite because it’s extra soft and gentle for babies!
Storage Tips
These patties are great for meal prep. You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To freeze, lay them flat on a baking sheet, freeze until firm, then transfer to a freezer bag or container. Reheat by pan-frying briefly or warming in a toaster oven or skillet until heated through.
Tofu & Salmon Patties
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cooked salmon flaked (fresh or canned, make sure there are no bones)
- 1/2 cup firm tofu pressed and crumbled finely
- 1/3 cup finely chopped broccoli
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons flour all-purpose, oat, or whole wheat — adjust if mixture is too wet
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon dried parsley
- Oil for pan frying
Instructions
- Combine the base: In a large bowl, mix together the flaked salmon and crumbled tofu.
- Add the binders: Stir in the egg, flour, garlic powder, and parsley. The mixture should hold together when pressed – if it feels too wet, sprinkle in a bit more flour.
- Shape the patties: Scoop out portions and gently form into small patties using your hands.
- Cook the patties: Heat a thin layer of oil in a pan over medium heat. Pan fry each patty for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden and cooked through.
- Cool and serve: Allow the patties to cool slightly before serving to babies. Serve with your favorite sides for older kids and adults.

Hi, the title says tofu & salmon broccoli patties and it looks like there is broccoli in the pictures, but there is no broccoli in the ingredients. Am I missing something here?
