Chinese Steamed Chicken with Red Dates & Shiitake Mushroom
Ingredients
- 3-4 chicken thighs cut into chunks
- 6 red dates
- 6 shiitake mushrooms rehydrated and sliced
- 2 tablespoons goji berries
- toppings: sesame seeds and sesame oil
Marinade
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon light soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dark soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons shaoxing wine
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar optional
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
Instructions
- Add chicken and marinade ingredients into a bowl and marinate for at least 20 minutes, up to overnight.
- Bring a pot of water to boil and prepare steamer rack.
- Add chicken into a steamer safe plate, top with red dates, mushroom and goji berries. Steam for 10 minutes, until chicken is no longer pink! Sprinkle sesame seeds and sesame oil on top. Serve warm over rice!
