As the temperatures drop and the days become shorter, there’s nothing quite like a bowl of warm, comforting soup to make you feel cozy. One of my go-to comfort foods is Hong Kong Style Noodle Soup with Ham.
I used to go to a local Hong Kong cafe and order their Macaroni Soup with Ham so making this at home gave me a nostalgic feeling. There’s just something about those childhood dishes! Also, growing up makes me appreciate and love the dishes more!
This simple yet satisfying dish is a staple in many Hong Kong cafes and homes, known for its hearty ingredients and comforting flavors. It’s a perfect blend of Western and Asian influences, making it a unique and delicious meal that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Tips for a Perfect Macaroni Soup
- Broth Quality: The quality of your chicken broth is crucial for the flavor of the soup. Homemade chicken broth or a good-quality store-bought broth will make a significant difference.
- Ham Choice: You can use any cooked ham you like, but a smoky or honey-glazed ham adds a lovely depth of flavor to the soup. I used leftover baked ham from Christmas Day!
- Vegetable Variations: Feel free to add other vegetables such as corn, spinach, or mushrooms to the soup for extra nutrition and flavor.

Hong Kong Style Macaroni Soup with Ham is more than just a meal; it’s a comforting hug in a bowl. It’s quick and easy to make, making it perfect for busy weeknights or lazy weekends.
