Homemade turkey burgers packed with fresh basil, garlic and bell peppers! The kick of basil in this recipe will make you want seconds! Made without any breadcrumbs making these patties gluten-free but still tasty and delicious!
I use to think making my own burger patties at home was SO much work. First of all, mine turn out try, it takes too much time or I just don’t know what works together. Well, after trying multiple recipes, I found myself making this simple turkey basil burger recipe SUPER often. Literally.. at least once every two weeks!
When I was working at an Eating Disorder Treatment center two years ago, cooking with my patients was part of my work. There was a 12-week meal menu, and a turkey basil burger was a part of it! Ever since I made it at work, I have been obsessed. I recreated another recipe at home and this is what I came up with. I like to keep things simple and quick, but still tasty 🙂
This simple burger recipe is packed with a bunch of flavor! I love basil in my egg omelettes, scrambles, marinara pasta, because it brings out such a fresh aroma in my dishes!
When you form the patties, make sure you press it down so it’s about 1/2-3/4 inch thick. When it cooks in your pan, it will decrease in size and get thicker!
What are your favorite ingredients to add in a burger? My favorite basics are lettuce, tomato and a sauce/spread. I love to add a bit of mayo on the insides of my burger buns as well.
My favorite fast-food burger joint is definitely In N Out. You can’t ever go wrong with a simple hamburger and animal fries! I got that a lot in college and I still love it now 🙂 The spread In N Out uses is amazing – it’s basically thousand island, but better. Next time. I’ll have to add thousand island into my burger!
If you are looking for more ways to use ground turkey, I also have a Veggie Turkey Meatball recipe! I make this recipe very often when I make spaghetti and meatballs 🙂
If you do try out this turkey burger, I hope you love it!
