They’re made with wholesome, simple ingredients and naturally sweetened with sweet potato, making them perfect for babies and toddlers!

Why You’ll Love These Muffins

  • Naturally sweetened with no added sugar
  • Soft, moist, and perfect for little hands
  • Made with simple, nutrient-dense ingredients
  • Great for meal prep and freezer-friendly
  • Toddler-approved and easy to make together

Benefits of Sweet Potato in Muffins

Sweet potatoes are one of my favorite ingredients to bake with for my kids!

Naturally sweet
They add just the right amount of sweetness without needing refined sugar.

Packed with nutrients
Sweet potatoes are rich in vitamin A, fiber, and antioxidants, which support growth and immune health.

Beautiful color
They give these muffins the prettiest natural orange color, making them even more fun to serve.

Ingredient Notes

  • Sweet potato: Cooked and mashed until smooth for best texture
  • Yogurt: Full-fat plain yogurt adds moisture, protein, and healthy fats
  • Eggs: Help bind everything together
  • Flour: All-purpose or oat flour both work well
  • Cinnamon (optional): Adds a subtle warmth

Make-Ahead Tip (Game Changer)

I like to steam a batch of sweet potatoes ahead of time and keep them on hand in the fridge. It makes it so easy to quickly add into:

  • Oatmeal
  • Pancakes
  • Waffles
  • Muffins like these

It saves so much time and makes everyday meals feel a little easier.

Storage & Freezing

These muffins are perfect for prepping ahead.

  • Fridge: Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days
  • Freezer: Freeze for up to 2 months
  • Reheat: Microwave for 15–20 seconds or let thaw at room temperature

I almost always freeze a batch for quick breakfasts and snacks – it makes busy days so much easier.

Final Thoughts

These sweet potato yogurt muffins are one of those simple recipes that just works. They’re soft, naturally sweet, and made with ingredients you can feel good about serving. Plus, they’re easy enough to make with your toddler, which makes them even more special.
