Dairy-free and nut-free pesto, perfect for pastas or to cook with meats! Made with spinach, fresh basil, hemp seeds and nutritional yeast!

First of all, I LOVE pesto. Pesto is my favorite sauce to toss with my pastas. The smell and taste fresh herbs and also the bright green color is what has me hooked! Pesto is usually made with pine nuts and parmesan. I made this pesto without nuts or dairy. Instead, I used hemp seeds and nutritional yeast. The spinach and basil gave the pesto it’s bright green color!
Nutritional Yeast
Nutritional yeast is a vegan product that is often used as a substitute for parmesan cheese or used to make a creamy sauce. It adds extra protein, vitamins and minerals to your meals!
Hemp Seeds
I use hemp seeds often in my smoothies or as a topping for pancakes, french toast, waffles, oatmeal, etc. It’s high in healthy fats, vitamins and minerals like calcium and iron. It’s considered a complete protein, meaning it provides all 9 essential amino acids.
This pesto is one of my go-to’s. I make a big batch and use it for several meals – with my pastas, salmon and chicken!
